Creating Easy Excel Forms

  1. Format the cells to “wrap text”:
    1. Highlight the cells that need to wrap
    2. Right-Click, choose “Format Cells”
      1. Go to the “Alignment” Tab
      2. The second section on the left will be “Text Control”
      3. Check “Wrap Text”
      4. Click “OK”
  2. Lock the cells they do not want to be able to click.
    1. Select the cells which the users will need to access.
      1. Right-Click, choose “Format Cells”
      2. Go to the “Protection” Tab
      3. Uncheck “Locked”
  3.  **do this next step when you are ready to complete template**
    1. Go to the “Tools” menu
      1. Choose “Protection”
      2. Choose “Protect Sheet”
      3. Make sure that only “Selected Unlocked Cells” is checked
      4. Click “OK”
  4. if they need it to print only on one page:
    1. Go to the “File” Menu
    2. Choose “Page Set-up”
    3. On the “Page” tab, choose the check circle that says, “Fit to:”- the default is 1X1 page, but you can see that this can be changed, if need be, you just need to check it.
    4. Click OK
